A moment of personal truth: Starting where you are

Imagine you are starting a hike. At the start of a hike, you will pause, check your equipment and determine how to approach the hike from where you currently are.

Similarly it is a foundational transformation practice to stop and look "where you are".

(Tip: Stopping and Seeing: A Comprehensive Course in Buddhist Meditation by Thomas Cleary is a classic book on this topic.)

Let's take the first step of our personal leadership development by asking you a number of questions about your own life.

Answer these questions honestly. You do not have to share this information - it's personal.

It does not matter what your responses to the questions are. All they are designed to do is give you a "reality check" of where you are today. Sometimes we are at the top of our game, other times we wonder if we will ever achieve our goals. Either way, it is good to write it down, as it will provide you with a "benchmark" for later.

If while completing this reflection or at the end of it, you feel that you currently do not experience a fulfilling and meaningful life, potential burnout, we also highly recommend that you take some time to find a qualified health care professional to help you. It is amazing what good therapy is available, such as eco-therapy, art/creative therapy and solutions focused coaching and counselling. You will also find that working through this program will benefit and compliment such programs.

If you completed this reflection and feel that you are on top of the world, through completing this program, you will gain the ability to share evidence based and researched, pragmatic principles and practices with others and therefore start to accelerate your impact.
